In the Diary: Make More Festival

Art and Culture

If anywhere in the city is going to host a festival to showcase talented makers and creatives, it’s East London, right? That’s why you need to clear some space in your diary this August Bank Holiday weekend for the Make More Festival in Victoria Park. Starting on 23rd August until 27th, expect to witness and take part in a variety of immersive workshops, masterclasses and shows and help celebrate the ‘Maker Movement.’

This event is hoping to see and support a sea of talented, independent entrepreneurs, makers, bakers, chefs and artists, just to name a few. One of the most highly-anticipated segments of this festival is the clay modelling course by artist for Aardman, Helen Javes. Now is the time you can finally discover the secrets of how well-loved characters such as Wallis and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep were created!

If you’re more of a foodie, then not to worry because you can participate in everything from food photography sessions to learning the art of pickling and botanical baking – you will be guaranteed to impress at your next dinner party!

So what are you waiting for? Go and buy your tickets now, be part of this unrivalled event and let your creative juices flow!
