Best Winter Terraces in East London

Food and Drink

Just because the evenings are darker, the wind blows colder and rain is a more frequent visitor, it doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy things alfresco from time to time. London is home to some of the best rooftop bars and restaurants and it would be a shame to let the views go to waste now the summer is a distant memory. East London has got an impressive offering of winter terraces where you can start the festive cheer and learn how to enjoy the chilly, crisp air.

Coppa Club Igloos

If staying in a star-gazing igloo in Iceland is on the top of your bucket list then this is the next best thing: Coppa Club’s snow globe-esque pods are the perfect way to spend a winter’s evening. Snuggle up with a fluffy blanket and take in the breathtaking view of The Shard and Tower Bridge, while sipping on some hot gin by Sipsmith, yes that’s right, hot gin!

Queen of Hoxton

You all know it, you all love it, Queen of Hoxton is a cult-classic Shoreditch rooftop destination all year round. This year, you’ll be pleased to hear that the winter theme is ‘Once Upon a Wigwam,’ sounds good doesn’t it? Complete with intimate lighting, toasty fire pits to warm up your fingers, toes and noses, plus an absinthe bar – if that doesn’t warm the cockles then what will?!

Hot Tarte Tatin Rum and Mulled Port are just a few of the festive options you will find on the menu, as well as some seriously tempting melted cheese offerings. Christmas really has come early!

Netil 360°

This high-line patio space is a cherished venue amongst the locals of Hackney; it covers all bases as it is a co-working space, gallery and café/bar! Managed by local furniture and carpentry company, Revill Design, Netil 360° is on top of the game when it comes to its trendy interiors. The Nudge has said: ‘With wooden benches, beat up sofas and colourful cushions, the whole place feels like an urban treehouse – a secret den to while away the afternoon with the gang.’ The dress code has to be the best bit though because they simply request nothing but ironic Christmas jumpers and bobble hats.

Roof East

Stratford’s carpark/rooftop bar has really made a name for itself as a cultural hub of east London and this winter it has been taken to the next level (excuse the carpark pun). In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Cool Runnings, Roof East is proud to present this year’s theme, Curl Runnings. A snowy Christmas in Jamaica really does exist up here and the festive cocktails will be a serious treat, hello Apple Strudel Mojitos; this merry time of year really won’t be complete without a visit here.
