The Makers Shoreditch

A Guide to the Best of Shoreditch Street Food

Food and Drink

Something that Shoreditch is best known for is its assortment of pop-up shops and street food markets on offer. Whether you want vegan burgers with crazy toppings, finger lickin’ good fried chicken or the best coffee and doughnuts in the city, odds are that Shoreditch is the place to go. We have done our research and eaten our way through some of the best that this East London hotspot has to offer and have done our best to round up our favourite pop-up and street-food venues that we urge you to try as well!

Magic Roundabout Old Street

The name doesn’t lie, as you will find this popular venue in the centre of Old Street Roundabout itself, which can only be entered through a secret entranceway in Old Street station, making the experience all the more magical! Known for throwing an array of exciting events throughout the year, expect to enjoy only the best cocktails and most sumptuously creative burgers and street food this side of London.

CookDaily in BOXPARK Shoreditch

Whoever said that vegan food was only green juice and limp, lifeless salads was wrong. CookDaily has proven just that by becoming one of the biggest food sensations that the East London street food market has seen. Serving up hearty helpings of vegan-style full English breakfasts and jerk ‘chicken’ dishes, this meat-free food joint has taken Shoreditch by storm. The genius behind it all, King Cook is proud of what he has created and the name it has earned; ‘Kids with tracksuits are eating CookDaily rather than MacDonalds…what more could I want?’

Last Days of Shoreditch

Located in Old Street, this well-loved pop-up spot is said to be ‘the original street food market destination in the capital, bringing you the best of independent London nightlife in the heart of creative East London,’ by Canvas Events and there is no surprise as to why. Closed for the winter period and opening back up in May, there is plenty of time for momentum to build prior to the annual opening of this East London pop-up and for good reason too, judging on last year’s performance. The summer of 2017 bought a sandy urban beach, karaoke and even an avocado bar, so the excitement of what they will bring to the table this year is almost too much to bear!

Butchies

After having a successful pop-up career cooking up some fried chicken goodness, Butchies has now gone permanent and lives on Rivington Street in Shoreditch. Offering up six different types of scrumptious fried chicken sandwiches, otherwise known has the best fried chicken in London, Butchies is making sure that it is doing its street food status justice! You can enjoy everything from The Cheesy Rider to Jenny from the Block with a side of halloumi fries and wash it all down with some speciality craft beer. Now that sounds like a perfect weekend treat to me…
